Membership Notices

DUES REDUCTION

All members paying regular active dues ($38.00/$37.00) per month will now have a $6.00 reduction in their dues if their dues are paid before the beginning of the month. For example, November dues of $38.00 that are paid before November 1st will receive a $6.00 reduction, for a total of $32.00 for that month. If you pay your dues after the first of the month your dues payment would be $38.00. Your dues must be received in theis office before the end of the month for the discount. This applies only to the regular active class. All dues payments are to be mailed to BAC Local 5 New York, 1 Scobie Drive, Newburgh, NY 12550.

Enclosed please find your 2012 Record Form.  Please fill out and return to this office as soon as possible.  This does not apply to retired members.  All other members need to fill out and return this form.

JOURNEYMAN UPGRADE CLASSES

NYS OSHA 10 Certification was mandated by law effective July 18, 2008. It requires that on all public work projects of at least $250,000 all laborers, workers and mechanics working on the site be certified as having successfully completed the OSHA 10-hour construction safety and health course. Contractors are asking for copies of your cards prior to your working on their jobsite. If you are not certified you will not be able to work.

Welding classes are on Monday evenings at 5:00 p.m.

If you are interested in taking any of the above classes, please call the office at 845-565-8344 and let us know what classes you are interested in. You will need to call in order to attend any of the above training classes.

MAIL SLOT

Our office now has a mail slot located at the bottom of the front door.  Any member wishing to drop off material before or after closing time can now do so.  Office hours are from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm.
